In the midst of all that controversy, 2PM makes their first official broadcast with their comeback single Heartbeat on Music Bank.

Despite talk of returns and heartwarming messages from the members of the group, 2PM comes back on stage with six members. Fans were able to get a taste of future live performances yesterday through a fancam view of the Oh Yeah! Concert. Fancams, however, can only show so much from a distance.

Though many fans insist the stage seems empty without the group's controversial leader, by the sound of things, several other fans were quite delighted to have their boys back on stage. Sure makes sense since JYPE had went out of their way to inch the boys' comeback closer to appease the hearts of fangirls everywhere. As the boys took the stage and delivered an awesome performance, fangirls could hardly contain themselves in the crowd, making it almost impossible to hear their boys' hearts beat. One can't help but say it's good to have these boys back on the scene.

SHINee member Onew has been resting since it has been confirmed that he is down with swine flu on 7th November. It is said that his health conditions have improved a lot and it will be no sooner that fans get to see him perform on stage again.

Onew had developed flu symptoms on 6th November and had visited the hospital where he took a test for swine flu. The test results released on the 7th had confirmed him of swine flu.

And according to SM Ent on 13th November, “His health condition has improved a lot. He will be taking another swine flu test today. Even so, he will not be performing with the other 4 members on stage today on KBS Music Bank.”

Onew is the 2nd member from the team after JongHyun to be down with swine flu. And their seniors Super Junior YeSung and Lee Teuk have stood in for Onew and JongHyun on various music shows previously.

-pop girl band HAM is set to debut in Japan next month, according to the agency on Friday.

The four-member group will appear on a month-long TV shows titled "Idol Sniper" in Osaka with CS Victory channel, LeeYeon Entertainment said in a press release.

LeeYeon explained HAM will go into shoot in December and the show is set to air in Japan in January.

They are also set to hold a joint concert, both in Korean and Japan, alongside Japan's idol duo Marry Doll and perform at numerous concerts in Osaka, including the "Super Live 2010" on March 28.

HAM, which stands for "Heart And Mind" -- debuted in September with the single "T.T Dance". The group's agency also announced that they will release a follow-up single in early December.

Korean girl band After School will make a comeback with a new member and single later this month, according to their agency on Friday.

"Along with the release of a new single at the end of November, there will be a new member joining the existing members," PLEDIS announced in a press release. The agency described the new member, who was one of the trainees, as a "secret weapon" with strong vocals and rapping skills.

The group allows its members to come and go, calling it "admission" and "graduation" in reference to their group name. For example, member "Uee" was introduced as a "freshman" in April while another member So-young officially graduated from the group last month due to reasons of health.

The members are also permitted to branch out to television commercials, modeling and acting.

More details about their comeback will be released on the agency website (pledis.co.kr) and official fan club site (http://cafe.daum.net/PlaygirlzAS). Their second single will be released, both online and off, on November 25.

YG Entertainment explained its recent 'reverse' strategy for promoting Big Bang member Taeyang's new album, saying it is aimed at prolonging the singer's activities for his new solo album for as long as possible.

Taeyang released digital single "Where U At" from his upcoming first regular album in mid-October and will promote "Wedding Dress", released today, till the end of the year, but neither songs are the title track for the album.

"It has become more difficult for singers to promote tracks on their album other than their title song these days with the entire record being released online and people's listening patterns changing rapidly," Yang Hyun-suk, founder of YG and also producer of the singer, wrote on his agency's official website on Thursday.

"Taeyang had requested he be able to promote his album for as long as he can so that was our focus this time," said Yang.

The producer went onto explain that his agency therefore decided to carry out "reverse promotion" -- promoting songs apart from the title song first, and then unveiling the title song along with the entire album.

Taeyang was the first Big Bang member to debut as a solo artist, releasing his first mini-album "HOT" in May 2008 which produced two hit singles titled "Prayer" and "Look Only at Me".

His recent digital single "Where U At" peaked at No. 6 on Korea's Mnet Singles Chart last month and his full-length album is set for release early next year.

A documentary about Korean superstar Rain "Hip Korea, Seoul Vibes" has been nominated in four categories at the 14th Asian Television Awards, according to his agency on Friday.

The documentary, which aired worldwide on the Discovery Channel earlier this year, was nominated in the following categories -- Best Music Program, Best Infotainment Program, Best Direction and Best Cross-Platform Content, J. Tune Entertainment announced in a press release.

The program shows the past and present accomplishments of the Korean singer and actor, from his childhood upbringing to the difficult journey leading up to his success in music, television and movies.

It was produced by Singapore-based company Bang Productions, which previously made "Crossings: Jackie Chan" and is currently working on "The Dragon Wars", through cooperation from the city of Seoul and the Korean Film Council.

The Asia Television Awards(ATA), which is considered Asia's equivalent of the Emmys, selects the best television programs that aired in the region including Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, India, Australia and New Zealand. This year, 204 programs from 14 countries were selected for the finals, out of some 1,000 television programs that had been submitted.

The winners of the 14th Asian Television Awards will be announced at the ATA 2009 Gala Dinner in Singapore on December 3.

Rain is currently on the U.S. promotion tour for his upcoming Hollywood blockbuster "Ninja Assassin", which opens worldwide on November 26.

Five-member boy band SS501 took their first win for their new song on a music show aired by major broadcaster KBS on Friday.

The group won the award for the No. 1 song on "Music Bank" with their latest single "Love Like This", beating out last week's winner SHINee and another contender Baek Ji-young.

Their victory comes three weeks after the release of their mini-album "Rebirth", through which the group made a comeback to the local music scene for the first time in a year and seven months.

They were unable to perform on the show however, due to holding a concert at Shanghai's Hongkuo Soccer Stadium tomorrow as part of their Asia tour.

SS501, who debuted in June 2005, is one of the most popular K-pop acts in Asia. The group has had numerous hits singles in Korea and Japan, and some of the members have branched out to acting and musical theater as well.

Hyunjoong: This time we’re going to compensate our fans, by showing them what we could not last time. Plus, this will be the first time we’re holding an outdoor concert, so please support us with your greatest passion.


SOHU: Your newly released mini album REBIRTH has had good results in Korea, congratulations. Fans are very concerned about the next studio album, when will it be planned for release?

Hyunjoong: We too hope for it to be released soon, and in order to let it be fulfilled we’ll work even harder. (Other four members clap)


SOHU: Do you have any hopes of getting awards at the year-end award ceremonies? Currently, SS501 ranks first for the Overseas Popularity Award on the MAMA website, how do you guys feel about that?

Jungmin: Ah, because this award is based on votes by the fans, and it also is about popularity overseas, I believe that our Chinese fans have contributed a lot to the results so thank you. Please continue supporting us, and of course, our newest mini album REBIRTH as well!


SOHU: Now that the members have started to try out lyrics writing and song composing, have you guys ever thought of releasing an album that is fully produced by the group?

Hyungjoon: Up til now, all of us have had the experience of writing our own songs. This time in REBIRTH, the five of us have also written a set of lyrics specially for our fans. So you never know, our next album might just be full of songs by us; lyrics, melody and all. We are singer, song writer, SS501! (SS501 is pronounced in a Chinese accent, and Jungmin laughs non-stop at the side)


SOHU: It’s been five years since your debut, what has been the biggest gain and losses so far?

Hyunjoong: Five years isn’t a long period of time, but neither is it a short period of time. In this timespan, we’ve had many international and Korean fans, and our popularity has been “up~down~up~”, that kinda thing. All of this is actually rather interesting, because until now, SS501 finally has its own colour and specialties. From now on, we’ll repay everyone with music that has the colour of SS501.


SOHU: Then what plans are in store for the next five years?

Youngsaeng: I think that five years down the road, SS501 will still be making music together, and show more individual charisma via different individual activities. And I think that us then will still be the same, we’ll keep walking on in our present state. (Everyone claps)


SOHU: Even though leader has reverted from “Yoon Jihoo” back to “Kim Hyunjoong”, will SS501, and not only just leader, attempt to do dramas if good productions come knocking? Also, what kind of roles do the members want to try their hands at?

Kyujong: The five of us have actually been preparing , Jungmin has honed his acting skills via his musical, and Hyungjoon’s drama will be broadcasted soon. The five of us concentrate fully on our individual activities, and Hyunjoong-hyung should have new dramas soon. So please do not just support our music projects, but also give your support to our other activities such as acting, DJ-ing and hosting.

(Kyujong passes the mic to Youngsaeng: “What role does Youngsaeng-goon want to try out the most?”)

Youngsaeng: I’m ok with any role, (Kyujong imitates a boxer at the side), the character that Hyunjoong plays in Boys Over Flowers is a role I’d like to try out too.


SOHU: Holding your concert at the same time as your Korean activities, will you guys be able to handle it?

Hyunjoong: Our group’s herbivourous guy, the person who is most concerned about his health, will answer the question: Jungmin.
Jungmin: The members have been consistent in maintaining our energy levels. Like me, I’ll eat all kinds of ginseng in order to replenish my energy. And in my opinion, your attitude is the most important when you face jobs of high stress levels. One should not accumulate too much stress, that isn’t good for your health… (Suddenly shouts at the other members) YOU’RE TOO NOISY!! (Turns back to the camera and smiles) This helps in distressing too!

Dong Bang Shin Ki trio Hero JaeJoong, Micky YooChun and Xiah JunSu did not respond to the deadline which SM Entertainment gave them on 2nd November.

SM Entertainment revealed on 12th November, “Until 6pm, they did not give us an answer.”

And about what will happen after this since the 3 have not given an answer, the SM representative said that they are not in the position to say anything yet. But they will be coming up with an official stand again.

During a press conference held on 2nd November, SM Entertainment gave the trio a deadline till 12th November to respond if they have plans for album release as part of Dong Bang Shin Ki early next year.

But the 3 have not given an answer by the deadline. And when asked if it will lead to disbanding of the group, the representative said, “It has not been mentioned to us yet the steps which will follow from here.”

SNSD's First Solo Concert is to be held on the 19th and 20th of December

SNSD will be starting their Asia tour with their concert at Seoul Olympic Stadium in the Fencing arena.
They are preparing their main songs and flashy solo performances to show off their various talents.

Starting with Seoul, they will be performing in places such as Shanghai and Bangkok
to continue with their Asia tour and to bring awareness to more fans.

"We are happy and nervous to bring you our first solo concert.
We will practice hard to give you a memorable and charismatic performance" says SNSD.

TVXQ's U-Know Yunho and YoungWoong Jaejoong have been garnering attention for showing their support for each other at their individual press conferences after the dispute began.

The two people's friendship seemed not to have been disturbed in any way by the legal dispute with agency SM Entertainment. In fact, they both seemed to be trying hard not to accidentally bring harm to the other.

YoungWoong Jaejoong attended the press conference of 'Postman of Heaven' at 4:30 pm at the CGV at Wangship-li in Seoul on the 9th and said, "It was hard for me to decide to show my face at this press conference which is my first official outing since the trial," and "But I wanted to attend the press conference because this production was something I worked hard on a year ago."

He also said, "When I was filming the movie, it was a busy time as activities for the fourth album were going on at the same time. So the members couldn't give me a lot of advice but U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin supported me by telling me to work hard," and "I did not give U-Know Yunho advice when he began filming for his drama. I didn't worry about him because he's a friend who works as hard as he can in everything he does," and showed his deep trust and faith in U-Know Yunho.

He also showed his affection by saying, "U-Know Yunho is a friend who hardly ever says 'I'm tired', or 'I'm sick'."

At the press conference for MBC's drama 'Heading to the Ground', U-Know Yunho supported the three members who had a different stance than him by saying "I hope that the TVXQ dispute is ended in a good, reasonable way. There are a lot of bad rumors floating around but please don't believe them."

When more TVXQ-related questions were asked, he carefully said, "I don't know why everyone is thinking of it so negatively. There are a lot of bad rumors going around. I worry that these rumors are only worsening the situation. I hope that nobody believes in these rumors and from my point of view, I hope that everything ends in a good and reasonable manner."

On the other hand, SM Entertainment gave the ultimatum to the three members and said, "TVXQ will make a comeback next spring. Answer our question of your return by the 12th." An answer regarding this was not available from YoungWoong Jaejoong on the day of the press conference.

His ill condition required a break from all of his activities for a week, including his upcoming concert. Diagnosed with the H1N1 virus late last week, SHINee’s leader Onew is currently making a speedy recovery.

SHINee’s management company SM Entertainment said in a phone interview this morning: “Onew’s body temperature has returned to normal, and he is now making frequent video calls to his good friends. He is in a good state of health as of now.”

The company also said: “Onew will be sent to the hospital on either the 12th or the 13th, to check if he has recovered fully from the virus.”

#1. Who will replace Jay?
2PM will be a unique team which come back in very short time after his leader's resignation. The leader played a pivotal role in 2PM. So, if there is no leader, there should be a big change in members, but, 2pm has no idea to change something till now.

JYPE said, "we did not pick up new leader, and 6 members will help one another and do 2pm' work."

The issue around Jay will be a good point that 2pm will be a sensitive issue. But also, it will be a bad effect not to focus their music only. So Jay will be a tension point of 2PM.


What means "totally new music"?
Apart from Jay, the new song of 2pm will be very creative, so can arouse a passionate response. Park Jin Young said already, "this is a totally new song which you cannot imagine", and expressed a strong confidence.

The keyword of this music is "Heart". In this new teaser movie, they used the members' real heart beat sound, and expressed their image as "heated heartbeat"

Can 2pm retake a status as "beast-idol"?
2PM was faced with an ordeal, "Leader Jay's resignation" just before they could rise to the top in 2009. So, can 2pm retake its status as top idol? This is a kinda main interest of people.

Especially, the beast idol syndrome, focusing 2pm, aroused big interests of women(in their 20's), and replaced Dong-Bang-Shin-Ki and Bing Bang in K-pop world. And the member's honesty attracted many people they can shoot many variety shows and commercials.

But when 2pm had a rest, new male idol groups made debut. B2st of Cube Entertainment (4 minutes' agency) made its debut and their concept was also beast, and Mblaq of J-tune (Rain's) Entertainment also took its concept as masculinity and showed an acrobatic dance. They shared beast idol concept with 2pm.

And, maybe Dong-Bang-shin-Ki affects 2pm's comeback much. In the second weeks of Nov, 2pm's comeback week, there will be an official announce about Dong-Bang-shin-Ki's future (break up or not). SM entertainment noticed the other 3 members should come back till 12th, Nov. There will be many big news in this week, so, how can 2pm make issue of their comeback?

For Pinoy K-pop fans, November is the season to be jolly.

To cap the year-long celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and the Philippines, the Korean Embassy will hold on November 19-27 the Korean Cultural Festival, which will let Filipinos have a taste of Korean food, dance, music, theater, and arts.

But the most-awaited event in the week-long festival is the free K-pop concert scheduled on November 27. It will feature popular Korean front acts like boyband Shinee, jazz band Winterplay, and energetic rap duo Mighty Mouth.

In an email message to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Blaise Regacho, Executive Assistant on Economic & Cultural Affairs for the Korean Embassy, said the concert was borne out of several petitions by avid K-pop fans in the country, to bring Korean stars to the Philippines. Shinee was the first group they were able to get, she added. (Click here to read related story)

Composed of five the boys Onew, Taemin, Jong-Hyun, Key, and Min-Ho, Shinee is known for the group's danceable contemporary R&B songs. Since their debut last year, they have won music awards including Best Newcomer Artist in the 18th Seoul Music Awards. Shinee's fashion style of high-top sneakers, skinny jeans, and colorful sweaters created the "Shinee Trend" that's popular among college youth in Korea.

Winterplay is a group that mixes several musical genres like pop, jazz, blues, and bossa nova, to create a unique relaxed sound. The band is composed of vocalist Moon Hye-won, and her band Lee Joo-han (trumpet), Choi Woo-joon (guitar), and So Eun-kyu (contrabass).

Mighty Mouth is well-known for collaborating with famous celebrities like Sun-Ye of Wondergirls and Yoon Eun-hye of Coffee Prince fame. Mighty Mouth is composed of rappers 237 and Shorty j.

The free K-Pop concert is scheduled on November 27, 3 p.m. at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in Manila.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS. The Korean Cultural Festival will open with "Taste Korea! Food Festival," on November 19-23 at Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City. It will feature a cooking demonstration of popular Korean dishes, an exhibition of Korean agricultural products like Korean tea, and a presentation of Korean cookbooks and fine selections of special pots, pans, and dishes. Visitors will get a chance to eat samples of Korean food like japchae, kimchi, and bibimbap.

On November 25, the National Dance Company of Korea will present "Dance of Chun-Hyang," which will feature traditional Korean dances. Samulnori, a genre of percussion music that originates from Korea, will be presented on November 26 by the Noreum-Machi troupe. Both musical events will start at 8 p.m., at the CCP.

To cap the entire festival, a Philippines-Korea Friendship Parade along Roxas Boulevard in Manila will start at 10 a.m. on November 27. More than a dozen floats and thousands of marchers will demonstrate Korean customs and tradition. The free K-pop concert takes place on the same day.

An idol group singer. A joint production between Korea and Japan. Fantasy-romance. The combination of these three elements may make viewers feel unsure about film "Postman to Heaven" at first glance, but it would be too early to make any judgements just yet.

Director Lee Byung-hun, actress Han Hyo-joo and boy band TVXQ member Hero Jaejoong turned up at a press screening on Monday for "Postman", the second of the telecinema projects where a Korean director, Japanese screenwriter and Hallyu stars have gotten together to produce a total of eight films.

In "Postman", Hero plays Jae-joon, the postman from heaven, who delivers letters living people have written to their loved ones in heaven. He comes across Hana, played by Han, who writes a letter full of resentment to the dead man that she used to love, reveals his presence to her, and the two start writing responses to the letters for the saddened people who are left in the real world.

Needless to say, the co-stars of the film are top stars in their respective fields of the entertainment industry and screenwriter Eriko Kitagawa, nicknamed 'the god of love stories' for her various hit dramas including "Long Vacation" and "Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi", turns the fairy tale into a fairy tale-like romance. Director Lee backs up the fantasy even further with his beautiful imagery, as he displayed in dramas "Sorry, I Love You" and "Snow Queen";

Below are excerpts from the press conference held after a screening for the film, set for release on November 11, which waited a year for its showing to the world.

Q: We heard that Erika Kitakawa started writing "Postman to Heaven" with Hero in mind. Why do you think that is? And is there anything the writer or director requested for in particular to you Hero?
Director Lee Hyung-min (Lee): Since the telecinemas are a joint project between Korea and Japan, we thought Hero who is widely known as a member of TVXQ, would be good for the part considering the fact the movie would be shown in Japan too. I actually didn't even know who TVXQ was but I now know the names of all the members. (laugh) And during filming, I realized why the screenwriter wanted Hero to play the part. We were in shoot for over a term of four weeks and during that time, Hero would perform in Asia but come to set right after he got off the plane to practice and shoot his scenes. His acting was good although it was his first time and he would have been done a better job if he had been able to just focus on the movie.

Q: Were you able to feel any differences between Korean scripts and one written by a Japanese writer?
Han Hyo-joo (Han): When I first got the script, there were parts I didn't quite understand or lines that didn't make sense to me. There were also parts I wasn't too sure about so in the beginning, I got the original script in Japanese and looked it over alongside the one in Korean and studied both. I ended up just going with how I felt but it was good because it was a different experience.
Hero Jaejoong (Hero): I got the Korean script first which had been translated from Japanese but I didn't really understand it because it was my first time acting and I didn't know how I should analyze it. But director Lee said he wanted to go with the lines that the writer had originally written rather than change them so he helped me to study and practice many of the lines which had difficult nuances.
Lee: These two are good at Japanese but I don't know the language. So when it became difficult for me to catch the emotions the script was trying to display at certain points, we all studied and worked together on those scenes.

Q: There were some slightly corny lines toward the latter half of the movie. How did it feel and did you make any bloopers doing the scenes?
Hero: In the end of the film, there is a scene where we say things such as 'Haven't we met somewhere before?' and I'll respond, "In my dreams?" I felt a bit weird saying that. It would've felt less awkward if I had been able to do it in Japanese. And in my mind, I made a lot of bloopers. (laugh)
Han: I made a lot of bloopers in my mind too. (laugh) So it didn't seem as awkward when I was actually acting out the lines but there are some parts are a bit corny now that I look back on them. (laugh)

Q: Director Lee, the imagery you had shown us so far in your previous works, shone again in "Postman". Is there anything you payed close attention to in particular?
Lee: Japanese people have dealt a lot with the topics such as life and death and love stories between the living and the dead in their movies. But Korean people aren't used to the genre so I had to change some of the script after consulting with the writer. And I because of those parts which may seem awkward to the Korean audience, I felt that it should be more attractive in terms of imagery compared to any other film and got together the best staff in broadcasting, filming and television commercials. I had the TV commercial team work on the filming and lights, the broadcasting team on the editing and producing and the movie staff on the art while paying a lot of attention to mise-en-scene or images. There are parts where the film may seem Japanese but the younger generation these days seem to take in such props, designs and colors quite naturally. I wanted to bring this out as best as I could.

Q: Was there any pressure in having to act with Hero who is a newcomer?
Han: It's true that I was very pressured but it gradually lessened and had completely disappeared by the time we were done shooting. I actually had fun while in shoot because Hero's staff and fans were very considerate towards me. As his acting partner, I would have to say he very quick. His reactions toward my acting was very good and he adjusted pretty quickly so I think he has much potential for the future.

Q: Are you considering to continue to act? And you're currently in a dispute with your agency SM Entertainment over your contract so we are wondering if you plan to continuing to use the name they gave you -- Hero Jaejoong?
Hero: I'm not the one who put the name "Hero Jaejoong" in the poster so I'm not so sure about that part. (laugh) And I can't tell you as of now, whether I'll continue acting or not but I think it would be most right to say, like I have been saying since my debut, that I will try my best if given the opportunity.

Q: What is a new sort of joy you felt while acting, different from going up on stage to give performances like you have been doing so for the past several years?
Hero: They joy I feel on stage performing versus acting are very different but it took me a long time to catch what it was. The director had actually told me many times to think of acting the same as going up on stage to put on a performance. And he took singer Rain as an example, saying he had become a better performer on stage after taking on acting.

Q: What advice did you receive from other members of your group, including U-Know Yunho who recently starred in MBC TV series "No Limit"? Or since you had actually filmed your movie before U-Know went into shoot, had you given him any advice?
Hero: They didn't give me any advice. (laugh) We were all extremely busy back when I was filming "Postman" because we were promoting our fourth album. We also had concerts so everyone was exhausted but U-Know and Max Changmin showed a lot of interest in the atmosphere on set and told me to work hard. And U-Know is such a hard-worker that I wasn't in a position to give him advice on acting. He never even tells us when he's having a hard time or he is sick so I just watched how he did, believing he would do well.

Q: Any last words?
Lee: I am really thankful to Han. She had just seemed like a younger sibling who doesn't know anything when she first debuted in "Spring Waltz". I know she must have been worried over having to act opposite a newcomer but she didn't hesitate to take on the role. She cut her hair for the first time ever for his film and I'm glad fans of TV series "Shining Inheritance" liked her for her hair too. (laugh) I also congratulate her for being cast as the heroine for producer Lee Byung-hoon's "Dong Yi". Rearding Hero, I know the reporters will be tough on him but I'm also tough when it comes to acting. I want to say that he worked really hard and did very well despite it being his first try at acting.
Han: I thank director Lee and Hero very much. I was extremely happy having been able to play the role of Hana the whole time we were filming and it was a very special film for me in the sense that I've never become so close with a character that I've played before. The movie will be fun the first time you watch it but even better the second time. (laugh)

10: Would you like to say a word to your fans who are worried over the legal dispute?
Hero: It was actually hard for me even having to show up publicly during such times. But I thought that I really should attend this screening event. I had a very hard time while we were in shoot for this a year ago but I was also very happy during that time and became very close to the director, actors and staff. I myself had been looking forward to its release for the past year so I am in hard times but I thought that I should turn up to congratulate the film. I know a lot of fans must be worried but I hope this movie can be reassurance to their hearts at least a bit.

A new song from Tohoshinki has been garnering attention, and the record label and various music download websites have been swamped with requests for information. The song is titled '時ヲ止メテ / Toki o Tomete [lit. 'Stop (Freeze) Time']' and from August has been used in TV commercials for cosmetics brand Menard. It is a ballad that effectively shows off the five members' skills as vocalists. Fans have been able to listen to parts of the song's chorus by watching the TV commercials, but besides that there have been no announcements for it to become available in CD or be distributed online as a truetone. So fans only knew about ten seconds or so of the song.

But now word has gotten around that during the end credits of the film 'TOHOSHINKI THE LIVE 2009', a short 3 minute and 40 second version of the song could be heard. The film is currently being shown in 19 theaters nationwide. Since no official announcements had been made about '時ヲ止メテ / Toki o Tomete' being featured in the end credits, for fans who went to see the film it was a pleasant surprise. Now that it has become famous, in theaters all around Japan one can find Tohoshinki fans in their seats intently listening to the song.
By hearing a longer version instead of the few dozen seconds of the song that had been used in the commercials, fans have recognized just how superb the ballad really is. That has fueled calls for the song to be released in CD. In response to the popular demand, there are talks underway for a downloadable version to become available prior to its release. But until then the great ballad will still remain difficult for fans to fully enjoy.

We will reveal the exclusive contract SM Entertainment holds with its celebrities. Although this contract is the one between TVXQ and SM, it can be inferred that it is almost a basis contract for all the others. Also, as SM stated that the income division for TVXQ was the best they offered, one can surmise that the content of the contracts of other groups such as Girls' Generation, Super Junior etc. will be worse.

In the contract, it states that TVXQ must pay for all of the expenses required for their activities and this implies the wages for their managers and road managers. "TVXQ must pay for their travel fees and rent fees, as well as their meals, make up and coordinators' wages, dance crew and any other stage crew costs. They must also pay for the wages of their managers' monthly wages (The wages of the manager is 800,000 per month and the wages of road managers is 600,000 per month, and this increases by 10% every year.)"

Exclusive Contract Periods - 'TVXQ' is 13 years and 'BoA' is 15 years

TVXQ's Kim Jaejoong finalized his contract with SM on May 14th, 2003, Kim Junsu on February 12th, 2000, and Park Yoochun on June 30th, 2003. There were five changes to the contract after this. The contract period was extended from 10 years to 13 years and the income division was slightly increased for the celebrity. However, the clauses regarding the extended contract or compensation which were ruled by the Courts as unlawful were not changed. The five changes of the contract occurred in December, 2003, February, 2007, March, 2007, October, 2008 and February of 2009.

If you look at the contract, it can be seen that SM holds almost no obligations. All there is for the agency to do is to take care of the group's popularity and tell them of their activities. On the other hand, TVXQ must follow the orders of the manager SM gives them, and cannot personally make any promises or contracts regarding activities.They cannot talk about the internal affairs of SM. If a show or performance has a setback for no special reason, TVXQ must compensate. They must make two full albums every year and must release an album six months before the termination of their contract and perform all activities diligently. TVXQ must get permission from SM to give any of their compositions or arrangements to a third party. But SM is allowed to give any SM singer TVXQ's compositions without the consent of TVXQ.

Although the income division aspect has improved, they do not receive any money until at least 50K copies are sold. If they sell 50K~100K, the group receives 2% of sales, sell 100K~200K and receive 3%, sell over 200K and they receive 5% of total sales. The group must then split this income. If the appearance on a show is not regular, SM receives all the money for publicity. If the contract is terminated for any reason, TVXQ must pay compensation worth three times the investment money and twice the amount of their forecast income as well. This also applies when both sides have agreed to the termination or when SM is the cause of the termination.


Exclusive Contract Content

Clause 1 (Purpose)
For the effective celebrity activities of 'B' (TVXQ), all legal actions dealing with all activities, appearances and such will be dealt by 'A' (SM Entertainment) or the manager chosen by 'A'. 'B' cannot make any personal promises or contracts regarding his activities and must only focus on what they have been given.

Clause 2 (Contract Period)
1. The contract period will begin at oooo. oo. oo(The latest contract signing date) and will end 13 years after the debut date of 'B' in the industry (album release, appearance as a supporting role in a movie or drama - movie: 20 scenes or more, drama: 12 scenes minimum per episode).
2. In the case that 'B' is unable to perform normal activities due to a personal reason, the contract period will be extended by that amount of time.

Clause 3 (Assignment of Rights)
1. 'A' has full rights for the maintenance of all of the TV appearances and activities performed by 'B'.
2. During the contract period, 'B' must diligently perform all activities decided upon by 'A', 'B' is not allowed to perform any activities without the consent of 'A' during the contract period, and if this clause is violated, the appropriate consequences will be taken stated in Clause 11, subclauses 1, 2 and 3.
3. All TV appearances and authority of 'B' are held by 'A'.
4. 'A' has the rights to all albums and recorded songs (including unreleased songs) that were created during the contract period. All income division after the contract period has terminated has already been determined by the exclusive contract.
5. 'B' must give 'A' all rights such as the right to reproduce goods, copyrights, the right to release albums, distribution rights, airing rights, performance rights, karaoke, right to create second hand goods regarding any compositions, arrangements or lyrics done by 'B'.
6. 'A' is allowed to use the songs recorded and produced during the contract period in any form. ('A' is allowed to reedit and reuse any song in the form of L.P, M.C, CD, CD-FMV, DC-FMV, CD-I, CD-V, CD-G, L.D, VIEDO, limited edition albums, best albums, commercials, movies, picture, VIEDO filming, MP3, any music files.)
7. In order for 'B' to give a third party other than 'A' lyrics, compositions or arrangements, 'B' must get the permission of 'A' in advance.
8. The manager of 'B' must be chosen by 'A', and he must diligently work to maintaining the schedule of 'B'.
9. 'A' is allowed to use any lyrics, compositions or arrangements that 'B' made in any album 'A' is creating other than the album of 'B'.
10. 'A' is allowed to transfer and use all or a partial amount of the contract's content in other businesses. But if 'B' says in advance that he is completely against this, this no longer applies.

Clause 4 (Contract Mandate)
What is under the maintenance of 'A' is listed here and this is applicable for all domestic and overseas activities, 'A' is allowed to transfer and use the rights of this contract, and can give the maintenance to another company.
1. Contracts for TV appearances and schedules (including the internet)
2. Contracts for domestic and overseas performances and events
3. Contracts for movies and commercials
4. Control of illegal use of pictures of 'B' (copyrights etc)
5. Contracts for use of lyrics, compositions and arrangements
6. Maintenance of any legal problems
7. All domestic and overseas activities
'A' will hold all ownership and copyrights for any goods created by 'A' during the contract period.

Clause 5 (The Responsibility of 'A')
1. Maintain the popularity of 'B'.
2. Quickly report the schedule of 'B'.

Clause 6 (The Responsibility of 'B')
1. 'B' is not allowed to reveal to the public of the contents of the contract or the internal affairs of 'A'.
2. 'B' is responsible for adhering to all scheduled TV appearances or performances set by 'A' or the manager.
3. If a setback occurs during an appearance or a performance for a personal reason, 'B' is to tell 'A' or the manager in advance and if there was no special reason for such a setback, 'B' must take responsibility.
4. The manager of 'B' must be chosen by 'A', and he must diligently work to maintain the schedule of 'B'.
5. Between the time of the contract's termination and six months before said termination, 'B' must release one new album (recorded) that 'A' asks for, and perform activities for P.R. for said album (six months).
6. 'B' must, when 'A' wants, produce two full albums every year, and perform all recordings and activities accordingly, and work diligently in all areas. ('A' chooses the amount of time allotted for the creation of the album, and 'B' must follow accordingly.)

Clause 7 (The rights of 'B')
If 'A' asks for any demand that is not the duty of 'B', 'B' is allowed to refuse.

Clause 8 (P.R. and Production Fees)
1. P.R. will be done by both sides working together.
2. During the P.R. period, if 'A' feels there is a need to stop the P.R., 'A' is allowed to do so and if 'B' would like to stop activities, 'A' will make the final decision.
3. For the production of albums that is done by 'A' and 'B', all responsibility including production fees is incurred by 'A' and 'A' is entitled to all profits or losses.

Clause 11 (Compensation in the case of a violation)
1. In the case that 'B' violates any of the clauses in this contract, 'B' must compensate for the losses incurred, and any actions or situations that may affect the activities of 'B' will be held accountable by 'B'. If 'A' feels that it will be hard for 'B' to continue on with his celebrity activities, 'A' has the right to stop the activities of 'B', and 'B' must compensate 'A' for the losses. (Compensation does not mean termination of the contract.)
2. 'B' must pay compensation that is worth three times the amount of investment (any money used for the purpose of 'B') and twice the predicted profit that would be gained in the years had the contract not been terminated.
3. Even if a termination of the contract is agreed upon by both 'A' and 'B', 'B' must still adhere to subclause 2.

Clause 12 (Disputes and other responsibilities)
If any misunderstandings occur due to a communication error in the contract, the problem is to be solved in a mutual agreement by 'A' and 'B' based on trust.

Boy band 2PM's much-anticipated new album will be released tomorrow, according to their agency on Monday.

"Their entire first regular album, along with their title song, will be unveiled and available online on November 10," JYP Entertainment said in a press release.

JYP had started promoting their album through various events on their teaser website starting last week, first revealing a 30-second segment of a song and then releasing the entire song the following day. They released two songs from their upcoming album in the same way but neither songs had been the title track.

The last of their album's pre-release promotional activities came Saturday, where JYP released teaser video clips of each member and the sound of their actual heartbeats.

The formerly seven-member boy band had been at the height of their career when leader Park Jae-beom quit the group in early September over controversial comments he made about Korea on his MySpace account before his debut.

Fans have been protesting against Park's departure, calling for the former leader to be reinstated into the group but recent teaser images and videos show only the six remaining members.

Ever heard of the dancing team named ‘Beat Freakz?’ If you guys aren’t familiar, it was a group that had been the finalist in the MTV’s program ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ along with the popular Asian dance team, ‘Quest Crew.’ Even though they didn’t exactly measure up against, ‘Quest Crew,’ a member in that team, already famous because of many dance routines, Rino Nakasone, apparently measured up to come to Korea and formulate some dance routines for the idol groups in Korea.

Rino Nakasone formulated dance routines for American pop singers such as, Gwen Stafani, Britney Spears, Chris Brown, and even for SHINee’s ‘Noona you are so pretty’ and ‘Love like Oxygen.’ For her new project “Chu~♡,” she added power in the performance by adding Victoria’s flip, and many moves that requires jumping.

Sexy queen Son DamBi talks about her wish to film a CF together with Kpop diva Lee Hyori.

Recently for the filming of SBS ‘Strong Heart’ and she talked her wish to film a CF before her singer debut. She said, “Before I debuted, I really wanted to film a CF. And it was even the case since it will be filming with Lee Hyori.”

She revealed how much work she has put in to prepare for the audition to this CF but eventually she did not get to fulfil her wich.

She also talked about an episode with actor Kim Bum whom she worked with for SBS drama ‘Dream’. The kiss scene between the 2 in the drama has also gained much attention from viewers and netizens.

Son DamBi talks about Kim Bum, “Even though Kim Bum is younger than me by 6 years, he don’t call me by ‘noona’ for even once. He will always call me ‘DamBi sshi’.”

Actor Kim Bum is in Japan this week for a fan meeting as well as to promote his first single album.

Kim will meet with some 1,500 fans at the NHK Hall in Osaka on Sunday, spending time with his Japanese fans for the first time in a year while also revealing his first-ever single, his agency King Kong Entertainment said on Saturday.

The album will contain several songs including the title song named "Eve's Sky" and the Japanese version of his song "On My Way to Meet You Now" from the soundtrack album "F4 Special Edition".

Also, a DVD will show video of Kim's album in the making and other video clips of the actor's transformation from an actor into an artist.

An official at Glory Entertainment, a Japanese agency which planned the event, said his fans continuously requested for the meeting after last they had last met with him at a meeting he held after the airing of TV series "East of Eden" in 2008," said an official at Glory Entertainment, a Japanese agency which planned the event.

After the fan meeting, Kim will travel to Tokyo to hold interviews with dozens of media companies.

The 20-year-old actor, who first gained popularity through MBC sitcom "High Kick" in 2006, shot to stardom early this year through KBS TV series "Boys Over Flowers" based on a 37-volume Japanese comic series.

His film "Emergency", where he will star as an aspiring actor working as a host at an upscale bar, is set to open December 3.

K-pop boy band SHINee topped Korea's music charts with their single "Ring Ding Dong" for the second week in a row.

The idol group took the Mutizen Song award on Sunday's "Inkigayo" with their latest single "Ring", winning the title over other contenders such as BEAST, Kim Tae-woo, Leesang, MBLAQ, SS501 and Wheesung.

The group performed without member Onew, who sat out from the show due to being diagnosed with the influenza flu. Jonghyun, on the other hand, returned to the group after having recovered from the virus.

The five-member boy band also took the top spot on KBS2 TV's "Music Bank" for the second week on Friday.

SHINee, one of the most popular idol groups in Korea, has had several K-pop hits, most notably their debut single "Older Girl, You're So Pretty" and hit tune "Juliette" earlier this year. They are currently promoting the recently-released mini-album "2009, Year Of Us".

Sunday's "Inkigayo" also featured the solo debut performance of Park Bom of 2NE1, who sang "You and I", and comeback perfomances by girl bands Brown Eyed Girls and f(x).

Pretty boy Hero Jaejoong makes his first public appearance since word of Hero’s – along with DBSK members Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu’s – legal tussle with his agency SM Entertainment hit the news.

The DBSK (TVXQ, if you want) member stars in the teledrama Heaven’s Postman. He was at Wangsimni CGV in Seongdong-gu, Seoul this afternoon (Nov 9) for the special press screening.

As the 23-year-old has always been flanked by other TVXQ members during press events, Hero admitted to being rather nervous on his first solo outing.

Heaven’s Postman, which was filmed last year, is about a postman from heaven (Hero) who helps families send letters to their dearly departed.

After the PC, about 280 fans joined Hero for a special screening of the show. The drama also stars Han Hyo-joo.

TVXQ's fanclub Cassiopeia has expressed their official stand on SM Entertainment's press conference.

On the 2nd of November, they have stated their official standpoint through a fansite.

Cassiopeia expressed, "Everything, excluding the words directly from TVXQ, we do not believe, and we would like SM to stop trying to divide the fans by causing confusion/chaos." and "We are very disappointed, and saddened with SM by saying those statements were by Yunho and Changmin, and also with the press conference. The reason for this lawsuit is because of the 13-year slave contract, not because of the cosmetic business. With the court’s decision released on the 27th, SM is to not interfere with the three members’ own/individual activities, and would immediately like for SM to stop with their actions on trying to divide the TVXQ members."

At the same time, with the release of Yunho’s and Changmin’s statements, suspicions were roused among the fans. Many questions were raised, like the position of the signature and name, and the doubt that it may not be handwritten. Conflict between SM and the fans will seem to continue from this point on.

Confirmed: TVXQ will participate in the concert at Shenzhen

Artists managed under major talenthouse SM Entertainment have declared they will boycott a year-end music award ceremony held by cable music channel Mnet.

SM, who manages some of Korea's top singers including Girls' Generation, Super Junior and SHINee, announced in a press release on Tuesday that they would not participate in the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) set for November 21.

They explained that they cannot trust the criteria and standard of fairness used in making their selections, citing that Girls' Generation, who had topped a music chart for nine consecutive weeks, had never taken first place on Mnet's show and only entered their charts a month after their album was released.

The nine-member girl group's single "Gee" was a sensation throughout the country upon its release early this year, dominating music charts for over two months.

SM also requested their artists be removed from a mobile poll which asks participants to pay a fee to place a vote, saying they "do not want to see fans suffer any damage from the poll which has commercial intentions".

SM is the second agency after Inwoo Production to boycott the music festival. Inwoo, managing two of Korea's top younger trot singers Jang Yoon-jeong and Park Hyun-bin, announced yesterday that they will not attend MAMA, also questioning the fairness of the awards ceremony.

Mnet will be holding the MAMA for the first time this year in place of its ten-year long Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF).

Last night, it was confirmed that SHINee member Jonghyun is diagnosed with Swine Flu,
however is was said that his body condition is not that bad.

It was an Outbreak. In the last 2 days, Jonghyun was said to have symptoms of cold flu and therefore he went to the hospital to be examined. However the results revealed that the member is diagnosed with Swine Flu and is currently resting at home.

SM Manager revealed: In the meantime, since there are alot of activities going through for the group, they will now participate and now perform as 4 members until Jonghyun gets all cured.

Currently Jonghyun is not staying in the same house with his members.

Shinee members are currently performing their latest song 'Ring Ding Dong' since having a comeback last 2 weeks. This is an outbreak especially for the Shinee fans and SHinee members after winning an award on SBS Inkigayo and KBS Music Bank

2PM has officially announced their return after their leader Jaebum’s withdrawal from the group and their temporary halt in their activities. 2PM has released the teaser on the 31st and had officially announced their comeback. The countdown on the teaser website stops on Nov. 2nd, amplifying the anticipation.

Fans are uneasy about the end of the countdown and the meaning behind it. There are some speculations that this countdown might relate to Jaebum’s return, gathering a lot of attention and interest.

Moreover, on the 7th, 2PM’s management company JYPE is holding an audition in Seattle. It is a chance for Jaebum and JYP to discuss about a possible return. There is a lot of interest in this because of the closeness of both dates.

About the possibility of Jaebum’s return, JYPE had expressed, “We can’t reveal anything yet” and is keeping quiet. 2PM’s manager Jung Min had stated, “Besides the news of their first comeback stage on the 13th through KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’, I cannot say anything in detail.”

He had stated that he “could not reveal anything” about 2PM’s activities without Jaebum and have “nothing much to say as of now” about Jaebum’s return. Even about the audition in Seattle, JYPE had been careful about expressing their position. A JYPE staff stated, “The audtion is completely unrelated to Jaebum,” and added “As of now, I can’t reveal which JYP staff is going to Seattle and what kind of meeting will take place with Jaebum.”

On the other hand, some in the music industry forecast that a main staff from JYPE will visit Seattle and meet Jaebum one way or another. They believe that as the public opinion has changed positively for Jaebum’s return, even though it isn’t now, there is a possibility of a positive outcome in all of this.
