Asian pop sensation Rain visited Indonesia for the first time yesterday, meeting with hundreds of reporters ahead of holding his first concert in the country, his agency said on Wednesday.
He held a press conference at the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta on Tuesday which was attended by some 200 reporters from 100 media companies, J.Tune Entertainment said in a press release.
The 27-year-old singer spoke of his upcoming concert "Legend of Rainism", taking place as part of his Asia tour, to be held at Jakarta's JITEC on December 3. He was also asked about his plans for his acting career in Hollywood and whether he is looking into taking on any new roles in TV series.
Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, has been one of the most successful celebrities in the entertainment industry since his debut in 2002.
His singing career has gained him massive popularity throughout Asia and he also appeared in several movies and TV series -- most notably dramas "Full House" and "Sang Doo! Let's Go To School." He recently starred in a Wachowski Brothers production "Ninja Assassin", which opened worldwide last week.

A documentary about Korean superstar Rain "Hip Korea, Seoul Vibes" has been nominated in four categories at the 14th Asian Television Awards, according to his agency on Friday.
The documentary, which aired worldwide on the Discovery Channel earlier this year, was nominated in the following categories -- Best Music Program, Best Infotainment Program, Best Direction and Best Cross-Platform Content, J. Tune Entertainment announced in a press release.
The program shows the past and present accomplishments of the Korean singer and actor, from his childhood upbringing to the difficult journey leading up to his success in music, television and movies.
It was produced by Singapore-based company Bang Productions, which previously made "Crossings: Jackie Chan" and is currently working on "The Dragon Wars", through cooperation from the city of Seoul and the Korean Film Council.
The Asia Television Awards(ATA), which is considered Asia's equivalent of the Emmys, selects the best television programs that aired in the region including Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, India, Australia and New Zealand. This year, 204 programs from 14 countries were selected for the finals, out of some 1,000 television programs that had been submitted.
The winners of the 14th Asian Television Awards will be announced at the ATA 2009 Gala Dinner in Singapore on December 3.
Rain is currently on the U.S. promotion tour for his upcoming Hollywood blockbuster "Ninja Assassin", which opens worldwide on November 26.

Korean singer, actor and producer Rain says he "now knows how Park Jin-young feels" after watching his own newcomers MBLAQ perform on stage.
After wrapping up his Seoul performance of the Asian tour "Legend of Rainism", held at Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium on Friday, the singer met with the media to share his thoughts on his first and new boy band.
"I was watching the first performance of MBLAQ from backstage, and I was more nervous than when I was debuting," the 27-year-old star was quoted as saying. "I thought of Park Jin-young suddenly so I called him."
The newly turned producer went on to say, "Every decision regarding MBLAQ -- from their head to toes -- was passed through me. I like about 60-70 percent of what I've done but I have a good feeling about them."
MBLAQ made their debut performance opening at Rain's concert last week, singing their title song "Oh Yeah".
The group, who were trained by Rain and his agency J. Tune Entertainment for two years, will make their official debut on October 14. Their teaser video was released today.
The Asian superstar himself is scheduled to promote his second Hollywood film "Ninja Assassin" overseas next month. The actor hinted about "doing a drama in Korea" afterwards.

World star Rain will be going on CNN ‘Talk Asia’, and he will be answering questions posted by fans all around the globe.
It was revealed on CNN’s homepage on 2nd October about Rain’s appearing on the talk show, and page “Ask Korean pop star Rain your questions” was set up.
CNN introduced Rain on the page saying, “Rain, real name Jung Ji-hoon, broke into the notoriously tough world of South Korean show business with JYP Entertainment when he was just 18-years-old. He made his first mark in Hollywood last year with a role in “Speed Racer” appearing alongside Christina Ricci and Matthew Fox.”
“The 27-year-old South Korean has even faced down U.S. comedian Steven Colbert in a spoof dance-off after Rain placed higher than him in Time Magazine’s 2008 online poll of the 100 Most Influential People.”

In a message that Rain sent via Promax, the organizer of the Asia tour, the singer thanked his fans for their encouragement. Rain sprained his leg when performing a jumping move on September 29. He underwent treatment on September 31 at a general hospital in Seoul shortly after returning to Korea.
Rain also added that his Hollywood debut movie, "Ninja Assassin," was to open soon and that he looked forward to hear his fans' reviews about his acting. "My goal right now is to make my name through a movie, but my ultimate goal is to gain global recognition as an actor and artist. As the late Michael Jackson has shown us, artists make a big impact on future generations with their music and performances and are judged by them as well. I want to be an artist who has an impact on the world's future," wrote Rain.

Top Korean stars such as Rain, So Nyeo Shi Dae and Super Junior will get together this month for the Incheon Korean Music Wave Festival as performing guests.
The 2009 edition of the Incheon Korean Music Wave Festival had originally set to be held in August; but however because of the passing of former President Kim Dae-joong, it was pushed back to the fifth of September instead.
So Nyeo Shi Dae members Tiffany and Jessica, along with famed MC Oh Sang-jin will host the festival for this year.
The Incheon Korean Music Wave Festival is held by the state of Incheon as part of its festivities for “Visit Incheon 2009”, and mega stars such as Rain and SNSD will be part of this massive celebration.
MBC will broadcast the whole event belatedly on the 12th of September.
A/N: From what I can see on the poster, 2PM, Baek Jiyoung, T-ara, Jewelry, M and FT Island will also be part of the guest performing list.

Rain also known as Jeong Ji-hoon has returned to Korea with an injured knee.
He was performing a concert in Japan where he injured his knee and had to return to Korea in haste. He jumped as a routine for his performance where he landed incorrectly.
It is not very serious but will definitely need some time to rest. It is unknown as to whether he can attend the Incheon Korean Music Wave this 5th.

Rain and Goo Hye Sun are transformed into Patissier couple in Tou Les Jours new CF.
In Korea’s domestic bakery brand Tou Les Jours latest CF, Rain and Goo Hye Sun are turned into handheld elf-sized mini Patissier couple.
Inside the CF, they were seen on the kitchen table busy preparing and baking bread. They prepared the dough together and Rain continued with by pouring almond syrup. Both of them then sprinkled the flavorings to make a huge bread.
This ad was difficult to shoot as almost every scenes were taken on an empty space. Both Rain and Goo Hye Sun were acting like a real giant baking a bread. But as time passed by, both of them showed remarkable progress in the CF shooting.
Rain and Goo Hye Sun’s Tou Les Jours latest CF will be released from 31st August afternoon onwards.
